I very often find cases in which these words are badly misused. Though simple, the rule still confuses some English language learners. The basis difference will boil down to the word order. Study the following examples:
- He can also speak French.
- He can speak French too. (Emphatic - He too can speak French!)
- He can speak English and her can speak French as well.
So, according to the rule the word order in the following sentence is wrong.
"Their children can have such problems also."
The author should have used either 'too' at the end or 'also'after 'can'.
