Dear Netters!
Remember that the word 'means' has only one form for the singular and the pural, just like the English words 'sheep' and 'deer'.
So, in the sentence 'Music is a means of self-expression' it is wrong to use the form 'mean' because it does not exist.
We use the same form 'means' when we specify the number, e.g.:
'There are five means of public transport used in the city.'
