Dear Learners!
Very often we want to say what we want or expect from another person or other people.
In this case we all mistakenly rely on the Russian grammar pattern which is actually a compoud sentence: "Я хочу, чтобы мой брат помог тебе"

The mistake happens when you translate the Russian grammar pattern 'I want that my brother...' and you get trapped.

When you say it in English, you have to change the structure into a simple sentence with the complex object. So. it should be like this:
'I want my brother to help you.'

To remember it better, say the English pattern in the Russian language:
"Я хочу моего брата помочь тебе".
So, the structure "хотеть кого-то сделать что-то" is absolutely English.
Of course, it sounds strange! After all, it is another language with its own rules.

So, be attentive and enjoy learning English biggrin
