For me cyber freedom associates with the concept free speech. Technological revolution that took place in our country some years ago changed people’s minds and helped them to express their points of view and opinions in a free way. The problem that appeared together with this freedom is whether it should be restricted or not because together with great and important ideas we can’t but face real trash that should be erased from the cyberspace in order not to clutter up people’s minds. That is why in this respect we can regard this notion not only as a constructive but also as a very negative one.

We can say that twentieth century society was strongly influenced by the shock of the introduction of new different inventions. I would like to say some words about the concept cyber freedom. I think it means to be free in virtual space. It means expressing yourself for example in computer games or in the Internet. This kind of virtual or cyber freedom is very often used as a way of expressing a different side of personalities, or escaping the social constraints of real life.

What is actually cyber freedom? It is one's ability to act freely in the Cyber reality, without being controlled and even without being identified. It is an ability to get access to the information you need and share the information you have. But here we face the problem of cyber security and protection of personal data. Freedom can't be absolutely unlimited, it should be controlled at least on some levels. For example unlimited freedom within the cyber space can be used in order to perform certain illegal actions, such as propaganda of terrorism or revolutionary ideas. So, in order to maintain social security cyber space should not become an informative anarchy.

Cyber freedom includes the concepts of free speech and free act. Cyber freedom manifests itself in the fact that the Internet exists as a free territory that isn’t closed for users. All people can search the Internet as they like. Cyber freedom means also access to the information of any kind. Cyber freedom is one of the most important human rights. The concept of cyber freedom is connected with the concept of technological evolution. The latter gives people a possibility to get access to the cyber space wherever and whenever they can or want to. But cyber freedom must be controlled. The Internet possesses not only positive, interesting and useful information. There are also some cyber zones that are poisoned by platitude, depravity and other kinds of moral mud. If we don’t restrict cyber freedom, it’ll become cyber anarchy.

In Vino Veritas...

I think that cyber freedom is not so distinctive from other kinds of freedom. It should be limited as well as all the other forms of self-expression. It's just not a secret that one's freedom has boundaries. The freedom of a person ends where the freedom of other people begins.
This is exactly what we face in the Internet. We do have a right to express ourselves and to discuss whatever we want. But at the same time we should never forget about the consequences our words may cause. We may harm both ourselves and other people. When expressing your ideas in the Internet, you can never be sure that your words won't be further read by someone else, the one you could never predict to get familiar with your ideas.
The Internet has a very interesting feature. it has a tendency to store information. You yourself may forget what you have written but it will never do that. So, I think that cyber freedom is not as good as it seems from the first sight.

The concept of cyber freedom includes all the possibilities of free actions and speech. Cyber freedom exists throughout virtual reality and cyber space. Cyber freedom enables the users to communicate freely without identifying themselves. Being incognito liberates the person, changes his behaviour, lets him employ various strategies of communication. Cyber freedom is the ultimate sign of technological evolution though it inevitably leads to the cultural one. Many experts claim cyber freedom brings about negative consequences and it has been suggested that, e.g. internet forums should use the obligatory condition of entering your own name and real personal data. Honest people have nothing to dread of that’s why they may log in under their real names and surnames because if their behaviour in the cyber space does not represent any threat, they won’t be tracked down. The benefit of the possible innovations is explained by the numerous acts of violence planned in the Internet.

Of course it's a benifit but isn't the whole idea fake then? In reality we often use the phrase, "Answer for your words!" Shouldn't it be applicable in the I-net? I mean it's so easy and safe to be a mouthpiece, a bright leader or on the contrary a show-off when no one knows you. But will this person be able to repeat the same in public? Or simply face to face with his opponent? That's a big question. So I believe the most important and decent thing which really deserves respect is reserve and polite firmness no matter whether you're at some conference or on a forum.
