Marilyn Monroe's "subway dress" fetches $5 mln at auction.
The white dress worn by Marilyn Monroe in Billy Wilder’s "The Seven Year Itch" movie has fetched about $5 million at a profile in History auction in Los Angeles. The dress is featured in the scene where Monroe stands over a Manhattan subway grate, with the dress billowing around her and revealing her undergarments, in the 1955 flick.
Other items auctioned included, among others, Judy Garland's dress from "The Wizard of Oz," the green curtain dress worn by Scarlett O'Hara in "Gone With the Wind" and Charlie Chaplin's bowler hat.

I really cant understand people who like to buy clothes or some other attributes of famous people who had died. As for me, it is an overindulgence. It is one more chance to show how much money is in your pocket.
