Dear Learners!
It's important not to confuse these two simple items.
- 'to marry' always needs an object after it, e.g.: 'He married Hellen'
- 'to be married' doesn't need an object, e.g.: 'He is married'. But if you use an object, then use 'to', e.g.: 'He is married to Hellen.'
- 'to get married' means to to become husband or wife.
That's why the sentence below contains the mistake:
"I’m sure that a person should marry only if he or she really dreams of it..." Exercise:
