Dear Learners!
'Instead' is a prepostion that can be followed by an object, and when it is followed by an object, don't forget to use the preposition 'of' for the transitive meaning, e.g.:

- "I think you should go there instead of him".

But when it is not followed by any object, then the preposition 'of' is not necessary and the word 'instead' becomes an adverb.

- 'Let him stay. I think you should go there instead'.

So, the sentence below contains the mistake because the prepostion 'of' is missing:

'We must protect our little friends! But instead it, people make money on them.'
