I don't think that people of the whole world need a common language for all of us. I consider so because to my mind, it's necessary for all countries and nationalities to have theiir own culture and traditions inclide an own language. It's right that now we have some global languages, for example, English that every person can learn in a school or an university. This is a good choice because people can communicate with each other without any language or other barriers. But we shouldn't forget about owr mother tongue and traditions of owr country even if we learn foreign languages.

Quote (ValerieTr)
It can not be denied that English is a widespread language.
Do you think that English is the most widespread language?

Is it necessary to visit countries where people speak the language that you learn?
Do you know some idioms or proverbs that we can't translate from English into Russia?
Quote (:))
Nowadays there are a lot of people who speak English and a huge number of people who learn this language.
Did you begin to study English only because of this fact?
Quote (Zhgutik)
From my point of view, it is one of the silliest idea to create one languge for people
But do you believe that creating a common language can simplify communication of people from other countries?

I support your point of view about this problem. I guess everythig would have been different if we had had a single language. I am sure if it were, our life would be boring. So, now when we have a great deal of languages we can look into a great varity of cultures, we can get into traditions of other counties. And it ia really important in our life.  Looking at it now, i see that people cannot live without interaction    with other nationalities. As luck would have it, there are many interesting languages around us which make our way of living brighter

I agree with you, interaction with other nationalities is very important part of our life and our development, because it is not only can help somebody with studying languages but with widening of one's outlook.
We were in London together and we communicated with people of different countries during our trip. I can say that it taught me to be kinder to people, now i treat with other nationalities' traditions, religions and way of living more respectful. What is about you, did this trip teach you something new ?

Do you want to say that without knowing a foreign language a person always disrespects other nationalities and even religions? B.t.w. (by the way), how can language learning help to treat traditions & religions you've mentioned?

In Vino Veritas...

Kate, of course, first of all, i can say exactly, that now i have became more confident in myself than earlier. This trip helped me to became more sociable and ,like you said, kinder. So, i heard  before our trip that british people are very polite and have an unsual culture in communication, but i didn't think that they are really such people. In our counrty, unfortunately, it is very difficult to meet a decent and worthy person. Our folk doesnt't reapect each other. And modern generation proves it. I know that a several years ago, during the Great Patriotic War, people were others. And i would like to  see those people now because without kindness, respect and humanity we will never keep together. I am glad that i have understood this fact and another counrty where there are other traditions and culture helped me to do it.

I did not mean that without knowing a foreign language a person always disrespects other nationalities and religions, but direct communication just helps people to understand other nationalities' traditions and religions better.
We lived in a Jewish host family and we shared their traditions, it was a very informative and interesting experience for us )
What's about the second question, i did not say that language learning can help to treat with traditions and religions better , but just communication.
