That’s right! It’s hard to speak Japanese because you must choose words and change various forms of verbs according to the status of your interlocutor. For example, the same phrase on different levels of the Japanese language: “Matte te!” – “Hey, you, wait!”
“Matte ite!” – “Wait!”
“Matte ite kudasai.” – “Please, wait.”
“Omati ni natte itadakemasenka?” – “Will you be so kind as to wait?”
