Dear Netters!
We often use the word money and should remember its grammatical features.
- It is a noun, always singular and uncountable.
- The verb that goes after the noun money is always singylar.
- The verb should never be in the plural form.
For example:
- Money makes the world go round.
- Money rules the world.
- Money is necessary for ever person.
- A lot of money doesn't mean a lot of happiness.
- Money causes a great stress.

The problem occurs due to the interlingual interference. In Russian the word money is always plural but never countable. That's why Russian leaners make this mistake like in the following extract:
'Money rule the world. Business make money. Money govern the world'.
All of the verbs are in plural but should be singular.

P.S.: Sometimes, in specific context this word is used in the plural form 'monies' meaning 'monetary funds or means'.
