To tell the truth, I will be the happiest person in the world if I can influence people to make them not drink!!!....Our reality is much worse. We can not change this situation globally. Let our government forbid such production. About what do we try to talk???(it will never happen)....
No doubt that everything depends on a person, but the most terrible thing is that people do not understand that alcohol destroys their lives. It is a great opportunity for other countries to take into camp ours. They will be succeed.......

What can we do? Everything depends on a person. No doubt that government forgets us, but a lot of people all over the country drink and we can't stop it. It's an irreversible process that we can't change and I'm really sorry.......because our country was the best........

One of the problems facing those concerned with the development of policies and legislation on alcohol issues is the sheer volume of research and publications on this subject. In addition, these works span a variety of disciplines, and are often couched in academic jargon which may be incomprehensible to non-specialists.

In this section, we therefore provide a brief, bullet-point summary of the key findings and significant generalisations that can be drawn from our survey of the literature on social and cultural aspects of alcohol. Subsequent sections provide more detailed examination of some of these findings, but the generalisations presented in this summary can be regarded as relatively uncontroversial ‘sociocultural facts’ about drinking, many of which have been consistent features of similar literature-reviews and summaries for over a decade

Russia for every foreign person is associated with vodka. i have my personal experience when people asked me if i drink lots of vodka. And I asked why would I?And they replied because all russian do. And that's a sad story. I want my country to be assosiated with something else than alcohol. We have unique history, crafts, traditions..and so much more. Everytime we go abrooad we represent our country. And we should represent it from the good side because foreigners watch you and form their own opinion about us.

To my mind in Russia a lot of people like drinking, but the problem is that all the people can't feel the difference between heavy drinking and drinking as a social norm, especially in Russia people drink a lot or drink nothing...it seems to me quite a serious problem, but if a person can stop in a right time it's very good for him and for his health

Quite a number of things have been said about the stereotype "Russian people have been drinking a lot of vodka for many centures".. In fact, there are always people who are addicted to drinking in all countries. My grandmother told me that my ancestors did drink vodka but not as a social disease. After a day of hard working they went to Russian baths where they drank only a spoon of alcohol to stay in robust health.
Another thing is heavy drinking. Many people start drinking because of various reasons: problems in their personal life, getting the sack and so on. There are only a few people who resist all these problems, go through them and harden their character. So, the conclusion is the following- drinking is for weak-willed people. It's the easiest way to forget all your problems in your mind but not to solve them.
More than that, I agree there's no supervision over that. Young people continue drinking in parks leaving empty bottles on the ground or wherever. People keep on driving cars in the condition of alcoholic inebriation. And if such people are not taught in their families what proper conduct means, they'll be doing that constantly.
For our government, selling alcohol is not only a good political but also a great economic tactic. Alcohol will always bring large amount of money to the state's fisc. In addition, alcohol leads to mental degradation and it's much easier to rule alcohol addicts than intelligent people, isn't it??

:), and do you think slight drinking and acute alcoholism are two different things? If you do, where is the boundary between them?

Alcohol spoils people. When a person drinks a lot of alcohol, the brain cells stop working. Therefore, alcoholics seem silly.
I don't like people who drink heavily, I don't drink alcohol. I believe I show an example to my sister and brother.
