Why many teenagers don't like old school music?

| still_ill, when I first heard Morrissey's "I have forgiven Jesus", it was a real discovery for me. Never heard such deep thoughts, such moving and sincere lyrics, I could not compare it with anything else. I completely agree with you - he sings from the bottom of his soul.

| I have to admit I did not pay much attention to The Smiths so far. I used to find their works less captivating. But now (I mean during the last few months) I feel they have the same old Morrissey's style. They possess the thing which most modern rock bands lack: heartiness. You can listen to them and sense these are the words you have always wanted to say; this is the music you've always wanted to hear/play.
By the way, I noticed Morrissey himself is quite hooked on the days of the week, take his "Every day's like Sunday", for instance.

| i belong to that part of people who honor classical music. Of course it is up to me to decide what kind of music i will hear and what kind i wont. I believe that a person selects music according to his or her inner state.

| Old school music is popular music from the last half of 20th century. I bet most of us have heard such names as Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Rainbow, Cinderella or at least The Rolling Stones. As for me, i was growing with this music as my father is a great fan of it. Of course it's music of his youth and he never betrayed it.
I also like this music. Nowdays music leaves much to be desired i think. Popular musicians should take an example from those ones of the last century.

| As for me, i prefer listening to different kinds of music. And of course, i like old school music too!!!Music is my life  ! I understand that many teenagers don't like old school music. But i don't support them!

| (Wardruna) don't think that heavy metal is something dirty and antisocial. Quite the contrary, I listen to such music and like it. But the majority of people think that heavy metal is destructive for our mind and health because of its loudness and specific lyrics.
Why do you think so?
