Brazil’s government has filed a lawsuit against Twitter demanding that the site’s administration delete blogs where motorists are warned about sections of highways provided with video cameras or traffic police patrols. The Brazilian authorities say that by posting warnings about police patrols the networking site thwarts their efforts to punish drivers who exceed the speed limit or drive intoxicated. The lawsuit seeks a 500,000 real or 290,000 dollar daily fine for Twitter if it fails to meet the demand.
