Children in Japan have to wear radiation detectors
30,000 children have to wear radiation detectors now.
Officials in Japan says they will hand out radiation readers to more than 30,000 children in the wake of the meltdown in three of the six reactors at the Fukushima nuclear power plant. The same measures will be taken towards adults but as it is reported, it'll be a bit later. Now they want to be sure that they can protect their children.

well I am not sure how exactly they work but as japanese officials say, such things will help people to stay away from places with high level of radiation and probably to prevent other problems connected with radiation.

Hm.... When the whole world was in panic they were trying to convince us that the situation is under control. But today we can't but notice horrifying effects Fukushima tragedy has caused... btw, how do these detectors work? Does it show that the level of radiation of the place you stay in is exceeded?
