Five-star hotel in space.
The Russian Company “Orbital Technologies” plans to open a space hotel for tourists in 5 years’ time. It will be the first in the world. Seven tourists simultaneously will be able not only to admire the fantastic space views but also to take part in the scientific experiments. Anyone will be able to reserve an apartment in the orbital five-star hotel. Sergei Kostenko says: "It is an orbital complex of multi-purpose use. We are going to carry out extensive scientific programmes there. We plan to use this station for future interplanetary flights as well. Including the programme for the exploration of Mars. This station also has one more mission – meaning rescuing ISS crews. The construction will last about 3 years. It will begin in 2012 or in 2013 so that the station would be ready for launching by the year 2015 or 2016.” The “Orbital Technologies” Company has already signed contracts with several clients, who represent various spheres of science and industry. Besides, the new station will serve as the gateway to broader studies of the Solar System. And the main thing for the tourists is, of course, the fact that very soon they will be able to spend their holidays not only on the coast or in the mountains but also in space on board of a comfortable orbital station.

Sometimes it happens that certain news make me imagine strange things.

2043 year. School composition “How I have spent this summer”:
“Well, this summer was brilliant, really! During the whole previous year we (my friends and I) were planning to have our “Space vocations”, but when we were... somehow tested (“You have to be healthy to travel in the space” - said the doctor), well, it happened that some of us (and me, that's a pity!) weren't allowed to go to Space. So, I've visited Ireland, Australia, China, Japan, and some other countries. But you know what? I wasn't disappointed! Because I've overheard what the doc has said to my mum. He said that because of my illness I won't be able to live more than a year... that means that next year I'll be able to meet my friend there, in the sky! My mum was so happy to hear it that she even began to cry! Just don't know, why hasn't she told me about that?”
Kevin, 8 years.

By the way, such kinds of news make us imagine unbelievable things. Space Tourism – years ago it was just a fantasy, the topic of science fiction novel, but today... everything begins with imagination.

You are absolutely right - not all of us are healthy enough. And one more question: how much will it cost?

I think that the great amount of tourists won’t have this opportunity for health reasons. You know you must be absolutely healthy for such a journey.
