Lead poisons more than 600 people in China
Local health authorities have discovered that more than 600 people, including 103 children, were suffering from lead poisoning in East China's Zhejiang province. According to the results of the preliminary medical test, workers and their families employed in the process of tinfoil have dangerously high levels of lead in their blood, ChinaDaily reported on Monday. The county's environmental bureau has sampled the water, air and soil in nearby places and found no evidence that they have been contaminated, according to the township government. More than that, China has not adopted standards governing the use of lead in tinfoil processing. Apparently no serious measures will be taken to improve the situation.
