Apple fans all over the world have created a web site dedicated to Steve Jobs. "We’ve embraced his vision. And we love what he’s brought to the world. Let’s take a day to honor the man himself and say thank you.” ( from the site Steve Jobs Day) They have chosen October 14, the date for iPhone 4S first release, as the day to honor the outstanding innovator. Steve Jobs died on the 5th of October at the age of 56. [He had been suffering from pancreatic cancer since 2004]. In April 2009, Jobs underwent a liver transplantation. On January 17, 2011 Apple announced that he had been granted a medical leave of absence. Jobs announced his leave in a letter to employees, stating his decision was made "so he could focus on his health". As during his 2009 medical leave, Apple announced that Tim Cook would run day-to-day operations and that Jobs would continue to be involved in major strategic decisions at the company. (from http://en.wikipedia.org ). Jobs announced his resignation as Apple's CEO on August 24, 2011. "Unfortunately, that day has come," wrote Jobs, for he could "no longer meet [his] duties and expectations as Apple's CEO". Jobs became chairman of the board and named Tim Cook his successor. After 6 weeks he died. As for me, I am sure that the invention of iPhone, iPod and iPad has transformed the modern computer industry. He was really genius and maybe a former of his epoch. Today is Steve’s day. Just say "thanks”. He will feel it in his iParadise.
I have never followed any developments in the Apple management but it was a great shock for me to have learnt that Steve Jobs died. The most awful thing is that he was middle-aged, not old at all. I have always wondered why we rearely use Apple Mackintosh Systems. A few freidns of mine have downloaded this OS and say that it's far better that Windows 7. BTW, did Steve Jobs initiate the development of Apple Mackintosh? I just don't know.
He was one of the greatest men of our epoch. He not even made many useful technical devices, but showed that they can be also the works of art.He dedicated his life to changing the word. It's a great pity that such people leave this world being so young...
