"Fears"
Ryazan Art School astonished citizens again. This time it was a very strange, to my mind, exhibition, that was called “Fears”. The author of this exhibition is a girl, that finished Ryazan Art School and now she showed her works for a big audience. Her works you could find in Ryazan Art School’s exhibition hall. Unfortunately or may be fortunately, the exhibition finished last week

I do not feel frightened at all, these are just pictures, and by the way not the best ones. Well, I just do not like such kind of pictures, maybe for someone they are great, and maybe someone can feel any fear ot whatever, for me it's more like one of those pictures that some talented-in-drawing-people can draw during a boring lecture.

hmm... strange pictures, I agree. But they are also...captivating so-to-say. I can't but look at them and think about their message. The fist one is a "target hit" - it's a well-known fact that many people are afraid of clowns, their faces with fake smiles make a lot of children and even adults shiver, not laugh. The idea expressed in the last picture is also obvious (to my mind). But what fear does the middle pic represent? I'm puzzled...

The fear of clowns is scientifically called Coulrophobia. I've just searched in the Internet to find some reasonable explanations for this irrational feeling but there wasn't anything convincing to reveal the roots of this fear. Some claim that many people are afraid of clowns because of lots of movies about clowns-maniacs and killers ("It" by Stephen King, for instance). Personally, I can't digest clowns and their humor seems absurd at times. I don't believe that everything comes from films and TV (as I have never seen any such movies). I guess the cause of Coulrophobia lies in the unnatural expression of their faces and the fact that painted faces can't give any information about the person's real intentions.

I also don't think that it's all because of movies. Sometimes small children, who have never seen such films and even heard of them are afraid of clowns. I also tend to think that the reason for that is the way they look. Once somebody told me that clowns' big red mouths seem to be soiled with blood. Br-r-r-r... nasty associations wacko

The first photo is the most frightening one, from my point of view. I dislike both Barbie dolls and clowns. Their combination is disgusting and awful. I’m happy I haven’t seen it with my own eyes.
