Russian and Japanese researchers may try cloning mammoth.
A group of Russian and Japanese researchers studied petrified remains of a mammoth and managed to find the genetic material required for cloning. This comes in a statement by researchers from the Mammoth Museum in Yakutsk, Siberia, and a University in Japan. The scientists have been engaged in the joint research for the past few years and found some well-preserved bone-marrow fragments in the remains of a mammoth, in the north of Russia’s Yakut Republic. Normally, bone marrow gets damaged by permafrost and is unsuitable for cloning, but not in this case. If everything works out well, the researchers will be able to clone a very real mammoth.

I am glad that the science has gone far. Its results don't stop surprising us. But sometimes I am afraid that a human creature tries to substitute for God. It can lead to different outcomes. Negative ones are not an exception. smile
