Sleep in the dark!
Recently researchers have found an important connection between the way we feel and the conditions we sleep in. They state that it is vitally essential to sleep in darkness. And here are several reasons for it. First of all, sleeping in nighttime darkness promotes a healthy blood level of a hormone called melatonin, which can significantly suppress the growth and proliferation of breast tumours. That is why it is necessary to get restful sleep at night with minimal exposure to light.
Second, research carried out at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine reports that night-time exposure to light before the age of two years is strongly linked to the development of myopia in later life.
More than that, light exposure during the night may result in symptoms of depression and low work capacity. So please, switch off all the bed lamps, floor lamps, the TV set and the computer in your bedroom.

I'd rather have symptoms of depression and low work capacity than sleep in the dark! When I can't sleep, I turn on the lights and the computer and music... I guess I need a party around to fall asleep.

Yes, it's just easier to relax when nothing disturbs you and sleep comes faster when there is no light around. I believe that a person who has an opportunity to lead a healthy way of life should listen to reseachers' opinions.
But...as for me, being honest, I usually sleep less than 4 hours a day and when I'm totally exhausted (this is my normal state since I've entered the RSU) I just close my eyes and sleep no matter what is going on around.

I agree that it is more pleasant to sleep in darkness without a TV and computers.
Scientists say that the best time for sleeping is between one and two o'clock.

Agree completely with the point concerning TV sets and computers. I always switch off my computer 2 hours before I go to bed, otherwise I feel some sick atmosphere, get angry because of terrible headache and so on. And about bed lamps...well, what if one is afraid of the dark? The sleep without any light won't be deep and pleasant for such a person.
