Anatoly Konenko from the city of Omsk, Siberia, has made a miniature copy of the bass guitar of the legendary rock group “The Scorpions”. The guitar is 9.9 mms long and is made from unique materials – the body from a mammoth’s tusk, the neck from a cactus thorn, and the strings from gold. The guitar has the group’s logotype on it, made of tiny golden balls. In 2002, a less than 1 mm book made by Anatoly Konenko was included into the Guinness book of records.
Wow, this is a great thing! When I was in Tula, I also saw things of that kind in one museum. And they impressed me so much! I am not sure I would like to have them at home though. They are nice to watch but I would never spend a huge sum of money just to have even this guitar at home.
I'm really in two minds because, first, it's amazing, mesmerizing; it's the most stunning thing imaginable. But on the other hand, I can't but be disappointed as the great hard work of the master is pretty useless and it's not worth such efforts.
I find this miniature copy of the bass guitar really unique. I just can't imagine how he could make all these strings, frets, the neck and other details. I suppose it was very very difficult. But if I were a millionaire, I wouldn't have bought such a guitar because it's so small. It's not easy to have a good look at it!
Well, there are people who collect certain unique stuff, so I won't be surprised if somebody buys this microguitar, even if its price is sky-high. But does Mr.Konenko really want to sell it? May be he'd like to keep it in his own collection of "hand-made mini-things" btw, the little thing is wonderful - I always admire people's ability to create something special and unusual even if it's absolutely useless. Just look at it - so nice, seems to be a Lilliputian's instument
I’m absolutely sure that the price of such work of art will be more than high, but I can’t find any use of it. Maybe I am a bad judge of art. Do you want to have something of this kind at home?
