Top-5 of harmful dishes on your New Year’s table.
In Russia they say: "The more food you have on your New Year's table, the more you will have in the next year”. I couldn’t find any evidence of this saying, but people still try to stick to this "program”. Of course, you heard that many people end their holiday in hospital and the reason is food poisoning. Why? Here are 5 most prevailing causes for it.
5. Tangerines. We can’t imagine New Year’s Day without this fruit. But it is forbidden for people with gastricisms. For healthy people it is recommended not to eat mandarins after main dishes, only at the beginning of the celebration. If not, tangerines start to ferment.
4. Fatty meat. Only absolutely healthy people can eat it. But it also does no good.
3. Champagne. It is all right if you drink half a glass, but who can stop at what has been accomplished? Moreover people used to start with it, but e.g. champagne and dry wine are absolutely incompatible.
2. Mayonnaise. Russian salad, Herring in coat, Mimosa and so on are generously dressed with mayonnaise. But we do not take into consideration that after 2 hours in a close and warm room it is inedible! So it takes the second place in the rate.
1. Cocktail with soda. Young people in our country prefer to drink cocktails: Whiskey Cola, Long Island, Mojito, Daiquiri – I’m sure that you know what I’m speaking about))) They are delicious and soft and (as for me) it is funny to make it myself. But sparkling water conceals the taste of alcohol and, in fact, you drink more. Moreover you Soda beverages help to soak alcohol up in blood.

Why, maybe it's a good motive for opening up different recipes or inventing original ones! Cooking is like exploring something new, you can never know what it will lead you to) And if life without mayonnaise is your nightmare, it's as easy as pie to make it yourself. The same taste but without anu harm)

That's really very useful but...I'm absolutely sure (and even ready to make a bet) that all these warnings and reamrks will be violently ignored by most people))) Well, it's pointless to argue that New Year is New Year and it's regarded almost as a sin to stick to healthy eating at this period) The Teacher is right, it depends on family traditions completely and they're so rooted that nothing can move them. It's the "salt" of this holiday, what more can I say)

absolutely agree. who can imagine a New Year party without tangerines, "oliv'e" (that is also called a "Russian salad") and champagne? And no matter to what consequences these products an lead, leave your reason aside when it comes to New Year))) biggrin

WHat a full account of what to avoid at the New Year party biggrin To be honest, I have never thought of it and usually relied on my taste and tradition in the family. I try to avoid overeating and overdrinking. But the most amazing things happens the following morning: I tend to devour the food prepared a long time ago! When my eyes spot a juicy slice of meat or a bowl of salad leftovers in the fridge, I can't bridle myself and swallow greedily the festive dinner cool

About overeating and overdrinking...almost all newspapers abound with articles devoted to ways of avoiding these "pleasant" consequences))) And I can swear that they're absolutely useless) The same thing with trying to keep from swimming in summer. It's high time everyone admitted that it's a New Year infection)))
