Traffic police is to tougher the driving license exam.
Statistics say that the more driving schools appear the more bad drivers obtain a license. Soon only well-equipped driving schools will have the right to teach students. During the exam you will have no right for mistake at all (when I passed my exam the rules were the same). According to the statistics, in 2011 there were 25 000 car accidents and 16% were committed by young drivers. The most frequent cases are “red light” (11%), high speed (31%) and wrong distance (9.4%). In my opinion such statistics is not the result of bad equipment or something of this kind. In fact I can’t call the rates awful or frightening. When I went to driving school the term lasted 4 months but I couldn’t say “I am a good driver” after getting my driving license. Now the term is about 2 month. Can it be enough?
To tell the truth I don't think it's the fault of schools. I guess most young people do understand and memorize all the necessary rules and pass their exams successfully. But! Then a number of factors come into force, I mean adrenalin, envy, common carelessness, some distractions, such like things. I'm not trying to justify anyone but sometimes skills have nothing to do with car accidents.
You're right. Driving schools are becoming more commercialized. A year ago, I believe, I heard about the prolongation of learning up to 6 months. But the price of such education would raise. But it's necessary to obtain driving license proving that you are a ready-for-road driver.
