United Russia Celebrates the 10th Anniversary
December, 1, is the birthday of the political party “United Russia”. The Constitutive Party Convention took place 10 years ago, December, 1, 2001. Its delegates unanimously made a historical decision on the transformation of the All-Russian public organization “The Union “Unity&Homeland”” into All-Russian party “United Russia”. The population of the party is now estimated to be 2m people. Ryazan regional branch of “United Russia” counts 15, 000 people.
“United Russia” celebrated its anniversary in the period of prime importance – on the eve of State Duma Deputy Elections. These elections are one more test on the propriety of the chosen political course, an exam in political maturity, a new chance for proving the credit of confidence the voters displayed earlier.
The secretary of Ryazan regional political counsel of the party Arkady Fomin mentioned that “United Russia” has grown not only in number, but also in quality. “Today it is a real political power that is represented on all levels – from the federal to municipal ones. It participates in all actions and aims at advancing the life quality of Ryazan region residents”, says Mr. Fomin.

It's often so disappointing to understand that economic and financial mechanisms are victims to political opportunities and ambitions. A newly built sports centre or a kindergarten must never be the object of political pride or vanity! These things should be done with no bow towards any political force When a political party reports of another economic, scientific or cultural achievement, my reaction is simple - it's a sign that economic laws will never work!
