Using a laptop motivates pupils.
At exhibition dedicated to innovations in educational system (18-20 Oct) a new laptop was presented. It serves only an educational purpose; a pupil can’t play games on it or listen to music. These laptops should be connected with the main teacher computer. And teacher can rule the process depending on particular child. This system has already introduced in a Kiev school. The results show great promise. Those children who took part in the experiment get higher marks. Psychologists say that using laptops increases motivation. And for a child motivation is the major factor for getting knowledge.

Laptops are certainly useful. They make our life easier and more simplified. We can use a laptop as a book, as a tape recorder, as a dictionary just like I use. And it saves our time. But there are also disadvantages as well as advantages. Among them are a harmful screen. As a matter of fact it really spoils our eyesight which is difficult to restore. It's necessary to use laptops within reasonable limits. Another disadvantage is that laptops and technical equipments in general gradually replace books, our national property. Books take second place nowadays. All the same,I think, books existed, books exist, books will exist. smile

Mostly of the same opinion but I would't compare computer technologies to book technologies. Electronic communication is really a new domain and even if books get ousted some time in the future, it doesn't mean humans will read less or process less information. Reading books can also affect one's eyesight but I doubt it should be a reason to downgrade the lap-top friend cool

It's very interesting on the one hand?but on the other hand they may not be interested in these lap-tops because there aren't computer games. biggrin

It's not about pupils' interests. It's quite a far-reaching innovation that will probably enable our schools to rise from the ruins.
