Wearing yashmak can be out of law.
Senate of France approved a bill that wearing yashmak and niqab in public places must be forbidden. So if the law comes into effect it’ll mean that all Muslim women will have to either take the clothes that they have been wearing traditionally off or just move from France. I just wonder do we have such a problem in Russia? Because I think in Ryazan I’ve never seen Muslim women who wear yashmak. But probably there are some of them in Moscow… But anyway, I don’t think it is an urgent problem for us, isn’t it?

Actually Islam is currently the second most widely professed religion in the Russian Federation. Adyghe, Balkars, Chechens, Circassians, Ingush, Kabardin, Karachay, and numerous Dagestani peoples are Muslims. These peoples are in fact part of our multinational culture. So I believe we are used to living side by side with these nations.

As to the problem in France, the situation can be taken from different viewpoints. For one thing, when in Rome do as the Romans do. Arabs in France are so numerous that it's hard to say who is native and who is an immigrant. On the other hand, French government shows disrespect to a foreign culture. However, France itself is responsible for this tough spot. Arabs are the cheap workforce and now the government seems to get rid of what was beneficial for it decades ago. dry
