World Puppetry Day: What`s new in the world of puppets?
“We are grateful to gods for having such a profession. We are celebrating the magic of the art of imagination!”- puppeteers all over the globe say today as they mark the World Puppetry Day. The holiday was established in 2003. This has become a tradition to ask a prominent puppeteer invent a greeting on World Puppetry Day every year. “It is not by chance that he thanks gods since the very first puppets personified ancient deities, - Mr. Boris Goldovksy, a Moscow-based puppet theater historian told – Puppets became toys only after. Today puppetry seems to become very popular among adults. Puppets and puppetry comprise a parallel reality, which appeared together with humans and will exist as long as humans do. A puppet is a materialized metaphor, which helps us learn more about the world. This is a magnificent art, where there is place for comedy and tragedy, vaudeville and farce, opera and ballet. Puppet opera is a reality. It is not a parody. Puppeteers even try to stage Shakespeare.

Hurrah!!!! Actually puppet theatres are my favourite ones and I go there from time to time even now! I should say that puppeteers really work wonders giving new meaning to old and well-known fairy tales making them relevant even for adults. This job is so hard and so worthy! What else can I say...I just "take off my hat")))
