Thanks to advertisement, we have a choice to decide what we really want. Besides, advertising means a lot of money. Are you active and creative? It's a chance for you to become a successful advertising manager! You used to be a popular pop/rock/soup opera/movie star, but the years rolled by and people forgot you? Don't worry, be happy, act in a short TV-ad and you are recognizable again! For many naïve young girls and boys acting in a short TV commercial means a chance to become famous. Just let 'em hope. At least, advertisement is an essential part of our economy, it became inevitable and unavoidable. So, accept the situation and try to relax... The second one (negative and critical). Outdoor advertising, poster panel advertising, commercial, television advertisement... To be honest, I'm too fed up with it, too irritated. The abundance of reclame makes some people really sick and, on hearing the word "brand-new” they fall into depression... Besides, don't you regard yourself as a victim of global advertising industry? Remember the quotation from the book "99 francs” by Frederic Beigbeder: 'Advertising is a technique of muddling somebody's brain”. It seems that we are completely brainwashed. Some people are like a flock of sheep: do what they are told to do and buy what they are told to buy. The quality of advertisement is appreciated more than the quality of production. Does it mean that any trash will have call, being cool advertised? What do you think?
Advertisment may be absolutely different. And this is the essense of the question. If i turn on the TV i can see boring and stupid short films which are called advertisment. For example where a girl are having a shower and singing in a nasty voice about Palmolive-gel. Or if it is after midnight i'll understand all the attractiveness of bear: it's so light and cold.... But there is another advertisment, which makes you laugh and it even can help you to change your life. For example social advertisment where there is real human situation. Or even about bear. We can see the stages of people's development (starting with a monkey) and after a modern person follows a bottle of bear. And then degradation begins. Homo sapiens turns gradually into Australopithecus.
It was said,"Advertising is a valuable economic factor because it is the best way of sellig goods, particularly if the goods are worthless." Unfortunately, it's really so) We should remember that the general goal of advertising is just to icrease sales but not to supply us with high-quality goods.

I think that some day people will realise, that nowadays television is a great monster. Advertising is fed up with lie and hypocrisy. Unfortunately, this "engine of commerce" works very often. As for me, I very seldom pay attention to it.
