As time goes by, our life changes too. With all these different inventions and discoveries it becomes better and more convenient to live. Mobile phones, the Internet, iPods, television and so on and so forth. Now we have so many things without which we simply can’t imagine our life. We listen to music, learn something new from the radio and TV-programmes. When we need to arrange a meeting or to deal with some important issues or just to talk to a friend, we can call or send a message. It is convenient, it doesn’t require too much time and efforts. But what about the Internet? How many things can you do using it! I’ve asked some of my groupmates and friends from other universities whether they use the Internet or not and why do they think it’s so important to use it. Statistics says that 95% of students use the Internet to do their homework. Every day students have plenty of different tasks and assignments, and if we return to the end of the previous century (it was not such a long time ago, by the way!), then we can see that students had to go to the libraries, find necessary books, spend days and nights reading all those fat encyclopedias and other text-books. But now you can find the internet page you need (it takes about several seconds), read the information and thus finish doing your homework in a short period of time. But there are some other challenging factors that make students use the Internet more and more. According to the researches, about 80% of students like surfing the Internet and regard this activity as a kind of an entertainment. Communication via the Internet is one of the most widespread ways of communication nowadays. People use ICQ, vkontakte, facebook, twitter and a whole lot or other programmes with the help of which they can tell the whole world what they are doing at the exact moment, what they need or what they have just done. People send cards and pictures, music and videos to each other. And not only do we share our "life” with other people, but we can learn a lot about our friends and relatives, celebrities and politicians, sportsmen and scientists as well. There is also one more interesting question I’ve asked my friends: how long can they survive without the Internet? And the answer was sure, "Without the Internet? Well..no..I can’t do without the Internet. My life and the Internet are connected a lot. Having no Internet access is the same as going to the shop and trying to buy there something without having a ruble.” Modern technologies have completely changed our life. And if people invent all these convenient and useful things, then why should we ignore them? These things are made to improve our life, to make it more dynamic and absorbing. So I’m sure very soon it’ll be so that people of all ages will start using the Internet, mobile phones and computers as much as they use a washer or a microwave.
