I’ll begin with the most exciting (I hope not only for me)) and long-awaited news! And, no doubt, it’s a first surprise. Jose Mourinho's Inter Milan won a victory over Barcelona at the Nou Camp. Barcelona's efforts to become the first team to retain the Champions League trophy, meanwhile, ended in frustration in the face of sensationally stoic defense of the Italians. They say that Mourinho is the best tactician around; he showed to other teams how to stop Barca. I’ll continue with Inter’s future rival, Bayern, and their surprise. Bayern Munich has officially become the champion of Germany. Schalke (they also had a chance) didn’t manage to gain a victory that would make a big stir. Now let’s turn our attention to Formula 1 and its sensations. Schumacher ,whose results left much to be desired, has finally left Nico Rosberg behind! But he is not content yet because Red Bull have left competitors far behind. And now about things that really strike. In the Spring of 2008, Phil Packer was paralysed from the waist down by a rocket attack on his army base in Iraq. Yet, within a year, he had set himself the challenge of raising £1m to help injured service personnel. He rowed the English Channel, climbed El Capitan mountain in Yosemite National Park and completed the London Marathon in 13 days. Having successfully reached his incredible target, Phil's remarkable efforts were recognised at last year's BBC Sports Personality of the Year event in Sheffield, where he was presented with the Helen Rollason award by his hero Sir Steve Redgrave. What else can I say? Sport tells its own tale and it’s always unpredictable. This very fact makes sport so attractive to us.
