Hi Everyone! I would like you to look through the new Forums that I think will be useful for our online discussions. I am welcoming you all to start up and be more active in Forums. The Forums under the title 'English Language...' are meant to help you all to develop professional competences and build good knowledge of English, to share learning and research experience. I hope you will all be active participants.

Hi, everyone! Tomorrow our group leaders are making a presentation of the GROUP'S INTERNET project. It is due at 1 p.m. I think everyone ought to come and support the project application. Hopefully this project will get an administrative support and some funding so that we all will be able to take it to new hights.
Guys, don't forget we need more photos in the Photo Projects section.
Please, activate more exchange in the Forums.
Not everybody has posted the grammar task in the Grammar section.

Guys, please be more active and don't forget to make all the necessary postings. The Photo Projects contain only seven postings. The other three are missing. Next week are starting a second round of the photo project called 'City Life - Forget or Remember'. Here is a brief description:
- A photo of a building that is a beauty spot on the face of the city.
- It can be any building, old or new, public or private, big or small, a toursit attraction or just an ordinary well-designed building.
- Give the necessary factual information: location, its function, condition, approximate construction date, a reason or two why we should know about it, what you feel or think of when you pass it by.
- Remember the motto: Positive Thinking through Positive Photography

Dear Max, please give names to each audio entry in the AUDIOS FOR CLASSROOM, ok? The one that you've uploaded should be titled 'From Opportunities Intermediate for Tone Groups 1 and 2".
Please write a notice for the group explaining that each audio entry should have a title (name of a topic). Thanks.
Thank you.

Please, find the classroom audio file in the Audios section for LP 14 with the focus on Tone Group 1 and Tone Group 2. Here are some practical recommendations for you:
- Listen as many times as necessary to be able to immitate the speakers.
- Then practise reading the same extracts applying 1) only TG 1 and 2) TG 2.
- When you have done it, think of the emotional context that has been expressed by changing the intonation patterns.
- Record all the four tracks with TG 1 and put them on the site under your names with an indication of the number of the Lesson Plan for later reference.
- Remember, that the intonation pattern that you apply to your utterance depends entirely on your communicaive aim, intention and motive.

Hello to Everyone! Have you seen the Home Page text? What do you think? Run through the text and share your insight and suggestions with me. Please, discuss your ideas in the forum. This is a starting page and we need to make it very good.
Will you think of any picture, photo, or photo collage to put on the page so that it renders the main idea of our project? It can be something like a group of people smiling, very positivie, encouraging, in a natural setting. Then some image depicting the Internet or any digital technology. Some image that represents communication, success, understanding, and the like.
If you come up with some ideas, please tell Max to redesign the Main Page. Max, special thanks to you for your constant technical support and enthusiasm.

Hi, everyone! This is just a reminder for all of us to start the photo project "City Life - Forget or Remember!" Read the tenth posting about the main idea and task.
Don't forget the main idea - Positive Life through Positive Photography.
Max, I still think that we need a seperate rubric in the main menu - PHOTO PROJECTS.
Since the first posting about the project was made two weeks ago, I would like you to speed it up and post your snapshots by next Tuesday.

Dear Students, we are starting a new photo project that I once talked about.
The project will be called "City Life - Forget or Remember".
The main idea of the project is to show our city life in which people are and can be happy and content.
The main aim is to fix moments of happy life and positivie emotions that can change our life for the better.
Your task is to take pictures of city views, sites, transport, people in the city streets, in parks, shops, university, post them on our website and write breaf descriptions and comments for the snapshots.
As a result of the project, we will have a photo collection that will appeal to the viewer through positive thinking and positive initiative.

Hi, everybody! As you have noticed we have started a new rubric on the site IMPROVING GRAMMAR. This section has been started to stregnthen and improve grammar skills, to keep track of grammar material and use the posted info for recap sessions and grammar revision.
When we post grammar contexts and other utterance, it's desirable that we accompany them with translation variants. This will be of use for external users and, hopefully, the posted materials will help them improve their grammar skills. Some time later, I believe, we will provide click-and-choose options to test grammar skills thus making this rubric an interactive language lab. Be attentive when you write these contexts. I have looked through the first postings and come across a few grammar mistakes. Please watch for my corrections and edit your postings. We will also work on them at our next class.

Guys, I would like you to say a few words about the importance and usefullness of our web site for your language improvement and communicative competence. Please, write one or two sentences as in the example here:
- "Our web site is an Interactive Venue to discuss miscellaneous issues and topics".
- "Our web site gives us an opportunity to practise language skills in a really communicative setting".
- "Our web site creates a cooperative environment in which we use English for authentic purposes"
These are just examples of what I am inviting you to write. I will then edit your ideas and put them on the main page so that all external users see and understanding our mission, aims, and tasks.
Max, could you think of where on the site we could start this discussion. Start a new forum section? Or do it in the Brainstorming section?
Max, please, remember to start a new rubric "NEWS".

Guys, this is just a reminder for all of you. Some of you have not completed your video search project on Theatre. In the video section there are only FOUR videos instead of TEN. It's important that you should find video pieces on Theatre and put them on our site so that we have TEN videos on the topic. Please, hurry. because soon we will start new projects, and I hate leaving things undone.
Another thing: Please, look through your postings and check for mistakes, correct them.
happy

This is for our admins! I suggest we start another rubric on "Group's Poetic Potrait". This will be a venue to publish your own pieces of poetry in English. Themes are miscellaneous. Feel free to publish and share comments. Add an audio file of the posted pieces. So this is a new dimension to our online project.

Folks, be more encouraging and motivating for each other. In the forum section we have a thread on University Life. Please, drop in as often as possible to discuss what bothers and elates you in your university environment - classes, lecturers, subjects, topics, and the like. Please, when you start discussing this, refrain from offensive criticism and remarks. Raise problems and suggest solutions and classroom recipes.
