Extra days-off
In May we celebrate two holidays, the 1st and the 9th of May. And every year we have a different number of days-off. This year our government has decided that we don't need so much rest as usual. That's why 2 holidays - 2 days off. They suppose that will be enough.
For example, we study on the 30th of April and on the 7th of May. And "celebrate" on the 1st, 2nd, 8th and 9th of may. The thing that makes me wonder is why they are counting our Sundays? Why are they saying, "We present you with four free days!"
Why four, I see only two. And you??!!

I'm totally against 10-days' New Year and Christmas holidays because they merely turn into 10 days of gluttony and laziness (for some - of drunkenness as well). But I wish we had more days-off in May because (probably you don't have this problem) many people have household plots and they DO NEED lots of time to dig up and plant everything exactly at the beginning of May. 2 days-off are not sufficient, believe me.

It's simple. Planning and managing time, and a good understanding of what kind of quality you want to gain. Another thing is to reconsider your approach to what you do.
Another thing - the same happens to working professionals who are busy-busy-busy and can never provide top quality. And now you are teaching yourself to do the same - looking for ways how not to do what is required but how to do things that you like.

Time-management is really one of my greatest problems. You are quite right here. But unfortunately I fail to understand the second idea. Because as far as I get it I disagree with it completely. That's why I suppose I just have misinterpreted your message. Could you specify it, please?

Now, I fail to understand what you are talking about. I see that you disagree when I say that 'you're teaching yourself how not to do quality". It's simple: quaility is impossible when you have an enormous lot of things to do. Impossible!

Now I see what You mean))
And you're right again - as usual.
I agree that if you have a lot of things to do it's impossible to do EVERYTHING top-quality. But it's quite possible to cope with SOMETHING.

And I'm thinking about my term paper. I thought I would have time to write it during the holidays but now I see that I'll have no chance. I'm not doubting the arguments you've provided. No way. But I really feel somewhat desperate. So much to do, just how to cope with everything? wacko

This is a rare case that I support the government. My firm conviction is that long holidays out of nowhere is bad for many reasons. I won't list them. If the 1st and 9th of May are national holidays, they should remain national events and should not be blurred and dispersed in the usual routine of long useless holidays. I also think we shouldn't have extra days-off on 2 and 7 May. In the public sector, with low sallaries, low prestige, low motivation, people tend to find ways how not to go to work but at the same time, do a lot of odd jobs. The government will be right if they decrease wages and salaries by the number of useless and workless holidays. Every year before long New Year and May holidays I start to plan what to do to secure good working rhythm and financial stability of my family. I am now thinking of the same things, and, whether you believe it or not, of two lost classes of English with you.
