Innovative Project for School Students - English Speaking Workshop
I want to launch a new project for school student who learn English and want to improve their language level. A few preliminary details are:
- The tentative name of the project is 'Learn to Speak for Success'.
- This project will start in the new school year.
- The aim is to create conditions for imporving Speaking Skills and setting up a local English Speaking Workshop, in which volunteers and participants can communicate face-to-face, 'share' their language skills, 'cross-train' each other and motivate others.
- Trainings sessions are held on a weekly basis.
- The main venue can be any of the city schools or my centre.
- Training in the ESW will be either free or for minimal fees (100 rubles per session).
- It will also be a good training site for those Uni students who want to cultivate their teaching skills.
- The ESW will have its own website in which some of the discussions will be continued and moderated.
- The main mission will be a) to create a sustainable environment for those who want to master English and those want to teach English professionally and b) to train a cohort of University and School students who will sustain the project in the future.
I will probably apply for a grant from our Uni, though I haven't decided yet.
What do you think? I would like to hear your comments, advice, criticism, suggestions!

Thanks for getting interested in the project. I think we'd rather move the discussion to the new forum under the same title. Follow the link: http://groupa.ucoz.co.uk/forum/91-263-1

I’d like to take part in this project. If the sessions are held once a week, it will be very convenient for both school students and those who study at the RSU. Still the pupils’ schedule and the time-table of those university students who study at the Department of foreign languages differ greatly. Will the meetings of the participants take place on the weekends or late in the evening?
The idea on the whole is great! We’ll meet new people and train SPEAKING skills, not only grammar and vocabulary. Being honest, I personally really need it. All English teachers, I’ve had in my life till the present moment, said my pronunciation is strange and far from perfection. I wish I had a chance “to learn to speak for success”!
I have a question: how will volunteers develop teaching skills on the future site: by on-line lessons and consultations or in some other ways?
