This photograph was taken during my trip to Old Ryazan. It was the summer of this year. The trip lasted the whole day and it was an unforgettable journey into the past. We visited a number of unique cultural places, ancient fortresses and simply beautiful places.
Our trip started early in the morning, so we greeted the dawn already on the way to the first natural monument. We saw huge ramparts, ancient almost disappeared and dilapidated fortresses and defensive walls. We also visited the sites of ancient settlements, saw there huge ancient boulders, appearance of which on the plain is very difficult to explain. In addition, we sat under the huge gates of ancient defensive wall, read the ancient inscriptions that survived on them.We also visited the rather high mountains, admired the stunning views from them. We found a glade of strawberries and gathered whole bottles of delicious berries. Our guide showed us the hidden spring which starts from an ancient underground river. It seemed to me that it was the tastiest water in the world!
During the trip, we witnessed the magnificent natural phenomenon. We saw how "the rain came through the plains." I tried to imprint it in this photo. We stood on the vast plain and looked at the wall of rain in the distance. Suddenly the phone rang and the guide told that a storm warning was declared in Ryazan. Turning around, we saw that the wall of rain became more foggy and that it moved slowly toward us. It was an incredible and exciting spectacle. But we admired them not long because we had to run as fast as we could to hide in the bus. As a result there was so heavy downpour that we could not even get out from the parking, the wheels of our bus were almost entirely in puddles.
But in spite of everything, it was a wonderful trip. I took a lot of beautiful photos, met interesting people. I learned a lot about genuine Ryazan, about its history. Besides I had never traveled to such cheerful cultural trips) Many thanks to our wonderful guide!
