Is it art?
07.02.2012, 10:00

Now people are tent to reckon everything in art, no matter how ugly or meaningless it is. This parrot is an artist as it is said in the video, but is it really so? There are a lot of examples when animals have an intention to create, but can they? I think their works of art have much in common with contemporary art. What do you think?

I believe it's not art. There are few perfect masterpieces created by famous people and all the world admired by them. And this is just spending of funny time with one's pet.

It's very difficult to say, but I think it may be art. Why not? There are a lot of incomprehensible pictures in the world, which a person is not be able to understand. It is difficult to make sense of what the artist wanted to show, what is the meaning and why it is so valuable. To my mind this parrot deserves attention and bring a smile to the face.

As for me, it is very hard to say is it art or not. We can discuss this theme plenty of time, but everybody has its own opinion. And there is no reasons to to convince smb. of the truth of our proper words. But, indisputably, it is an amasing video or kind of art, if we can call it in this way.

undoubtedly,it's a kind of art. This picture is a reflection of somebody's imagination, in spite of it's a work of а parrot.Because I really believe animals can have emotions and feelings. By the way, everyone has its own perception of art.

To my mind, our modern life is not the best example of splendid art. I have recently seen the video where an elephant draws a picture. I should say that it's a much better manifestation of art than people's pictures. I believe that we can't judge this video like experts, because if you don't know that it's a parrot you will bravely say that it's a person and may be you'll like this picture...........

As for me, this can be art. Art is not always a beautiful masterpiece. It's an expression of our feelings by means of paints, music, words etc. And animals do have feelings. So people shouldn't be so arrogant believing they are the only who can create a piece of art.

I also believe that art hasn' t limits. And everybody sees it in his own way. Besides, art is not always precious pictures or smth like that. Everything what we create may be called art. It is talent, self-expression. And moreover, engage your imagination. After all, the parrot sees the world in his onw way)

In my opinion, this is not Art. By no means! If we consider it to be Art, then why not regard everything that has been drawn by a living creature Art? Like, for example, "pictures" of infants? They can draw no worse than this parrot!
For me the product of the parrot's creativity is no Art. it's just some mess!

I have mixed feelings. It seems we can interpret anything we observe as a work of art. Naturally, our understanding and appreciation of art is based on our imagination but who can impose limits on it? It is evident the parrot had no artistic intention while smearing the piece of paper with various hues of paints. But it does look like a dress! It really resembles a work of art by some modern fashionable artist. So what is the difference between these swelling upstarts and parrots? Perhaps, the difference is this: parrots do not crave for glory and money.

Art is a result of one's thoughts and emotions. I doubt that this parrot wants to insert some more or less important message into his "work". That's just a parrot with a brush and paints, not art.
