In the world of business there's no place for ethics, because the main role there plays profit. If a person chooses the ethic way inhis/her business, it leads to a fail.

So, you believe that here's no fair business? And those who run their business are all immoral swindlers? Why are you so pessimistic? I don't want to believe that only thieves get money

Seagull, are you personally determined that there is no place for an honest person in the world of big business? Does any businessperson follow the rule of "grab-all-you-can-lay-your-hands-on"?

In many cases there is no place for an honest person in the world of big business. Big business means not only money, it means also power and authority. It, of course, spoils people.

“The root of this problem is greed”. That's it! Today we witness businessmen who are obsessed about getting profit. Many of us believe that we live in the world where 2 main activities are production and consumption and the only one aim is to get more and more money. That's why we often come across the situation, when ethical and moral principles are ignored and violated when it comes to profit.

It is obvious that many officials cause economic problems because of their desire to get all money they can see. And I think the problem that we have in Russia is that people who steal are never arrested. And they are never punished for their deeds. That is why they think they are allowed to do everything they want, so they simply continue stealing.

I suppose I have to disagree with you. I think it's wrong to claim that those who steal are never punished. They are, but rarely. And usually this is done on purpose: to show everybody that the judiciary branch is working in Russia as well!!
I also think that Russians steal because it's in our nature: to get whatever we can get. I'm not saying that all Russians are violating the law! The idea I want to express is that some nations are more likely to steal than the other ones. (Consider gypsies, for example!)

It seems there is some sense in the claim that all global (and local) problems are just repercussions of people's desire to get more. Businessmen are convinced their goal is profit - that's their idol and the tool for gaining more money. The essence of commerce is profiteering which is basically 'a lie': make people buy at the price 10 times higher than it really is. The very idea of business is built upon fraud. But some do it by insensible degrees, others can't but act on a large scale. Like these ones: did they follow the rules of ethics?
