No doubt, we take healthy food only at home because our mother's take care of us. McD is a popular brand but nowadays hearing the name of it the first idea "they want to kill us''. Sometimes it's fine to go there to have meal but not all the time. Another popular brand is Burger King. I like it more then McD because the quality of bread and meat is higher. When you eat any sandwich there you feel another quality of the same ingredients.

What comes to your mind when you hear the words “sandwich”, “hamburger”, “French potato”? My bet is there appears a huge yellow letter “M” in your imagination. This man managed to become a prosperous and successful businessman, no doubts. But he also managed to create certain “fast-food culture”. McDonald's today is not just a place where you can have a snack, it's a real commercial brand, well-advertised, well-promoted, well-know. It's a part of the idea of “American culture” as a whole. It's a bright example of a company that managed to come to the fore in its sphere of activity, a company that has found its own market niche. Btw, do you know any successful competitors of McDonald's?

biggrin No, I don't. I suppose there are none. Or was it a rhetorical question? tongue
You've expressed the idea that McDonald's is a part of the American culture. I would say that it's a part of the World, or International culture (if such a phenomenon exists, of course!).

It was a rhetorical question, but I hoped to get an answer and find out the name of another fast-food conpany biggrin Well, originally it is a part of American culture. But as you know, a great deal of it turned out to be so-called "International culture", while Amenica influences the whole world a lot. So, yes, you're right)))

Well, here we can see a good example of a successfull businessman. This man started his business having almost nothing and finally he managed to become one of the most famous and probably one of the richest entrepreneur in the world. Mc Donald's cafes are in every country all over the world, all people know the name of this man and the food he produces. So he simply had to be a very hard-working and patient till the time of such a great success.

But still what about the quality of food his compoany produces? All the time we hear that fast-food is unhealthy. More than that the process of cooking itself is far from being right and normal. On the other hand McDonald's snack bars all over the world offer a lot of work places for students and people without high education and operational experience.

We are speaking about businesses, not about Health Care institutions! Why do entrepreneurs have to take care of our health? The only goal they have is MONEY. Moreover, it is well-known that fast food is extremely harmful but still people keep having their snack in MC Donald's!

Yes, MONEY, but there's no money without quality. The quality of McDonald's snack is probably even higher than of the same snack produced locally. Besides, it is tasty (for those who eat fast food) and taste is the indicator of the quality. I'm not whitening the company as I don't eat its food but we should admit that people buy hamburgers and 'happy meals' because they like it, not because the company wants money.

Yes, of course! Completely agree with you! The idea I wanted to express is: businesses don't have to pay attention to our health, their aim being profit. But without any doubt in order to get this profit they have to attract consumers. How? By advertising and promoting. And, surely, by the quality of goods. I'm also not fond of Mc Donald's. But I can't but admit that the service is quick and the staff is friendly there.
