Well, when I try to think about the phenomenon of oil exuding, I often happen to be in two minds. There are plenty of articles available in the Internet that seem to refute the existence of this miracle. Some of them convincingly state that it is a mere falsification performed by priests themselves. Others provide sound arguments for the validity of the facts about weeping icons. I admit I do not fully adhere to any of the two camps. For me there is still little reliable information to say definitely whether it is fraud or miracle.

To tell the truth such event seems to me unbelievable. But as a fact every year we can see such phenomenon, such miracle in our everyday life. We can call such event as a special message of God which gives many people around the world a chance to believe in something divine.

As it is said in the video the icons started to exude oil during services and it is very significant. There's no explanation as to why or how these icons started to exude oil, but icons as Asya has said are windows to heaven through which we often receive graces from God. It will be interesting to know what psalm was signing when it started.

The icon of Theotokos shows an example of a divine miracle. The icon weeps with oil and makes the believers feel the God's grace. Now, we see how the icon has become one of the symbols of the divinity. Unfortunately, the video doesn't say anything about the expertise of the phenomenon. Perhaps some stains of oil were present under the top layer of the icon, and the sound of the liturgy made them exude. The people would unconditionally beleive in the miracle, but no one bothers about true reasons of what has happened. It is though wonderful that the icon makes people turn to God, rather than to Satan. The aim is clear - notwithstanding the explanation the miracle served well. Aren't such miracles strengthen faith? If they do, then we need no explanation.

The Icon of the Theotokos is miraculous. It weeps with oil. But can it really be called a miracle? It's a well-known fact that icons are coated with oil (boiled oil) in order to save the paint on the canvas. This oil penetrate into the canvas and stays there for ages. And it's quite possible that the oil can exude from the icon. The question is what conditions must be maintained at that moment. But as it is said people don't need proofs for their faith. If an icon is miraculous and heals people, so what else do we need? As for me, I don't regard miraculous icons as a true divine goodness or as a fake. But that's because I'm not an absolute believer. Maybe some day the science and the religion will come to some mutual conclusion in such questions as divine miracles in our world.

We could see how icons were crying. This mystery nobody can explain and open this secret. Why do icons weep? Is it a message to people that God sent us?
