If i ask you a question about what are the symbols of Egypt, you will tell me for sure that these are pyramids. But not only pyramids symbolize this country. Of course the life of Egyptians was dedicated to their life after the death. That is why there is such a notion in art as a cult of the next world. When a pharaoh died, all things that he could use after his death his slaves put with him. These were clothes, pieces of furniture, dishes and even animals and relatives. I wont tell you that his slaves and army should serve him in that the next world because you understand that army is a necessary thing for pharaoh too. That is why scientists and archaeologists find not only tombs with the Mummy.
During the whole period of Ancient Egypt the manner of painting was changing from pharaoh to pharaoh. From the very beginning an artist draw a pharaoh as a God, without wrinkles and some lacks of body. Later a pharaoh seemed to be a usual person that lived in ancient Egypt. Usually he was very thin with tiredness in his look. Moreover all the period of ancient Egypt was the religious battle. It reflected in art too.
