Probably my interpretation of the real message of the 3rd chapter of Genesis somehow swerves from what people usually say about it. For me, the first sin is the act of the first people conforming to the laws of nature. The first sin is voluntarily stipulated by God’s intention. I think there are lexical identificators in the text of the chapter that give us some hints. "And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden”. We see the word ‘shall’ in it, n ... Read more »

To my mind psalms are poetic works of different people but the aim of a psalm is the only one – to ask for a help, to cope with difficulties. A Psalm is actually a prayer that does not have rhythm. When you pray, you just ask God to do something for you, to forgive all your sins.

Psalm 22 is like a personal, inner prayer. By reading this psalm, we can admit the terrible spiritual condition of Shahar, he searches for a piece of advice because life on Earth is not a simple thing. He asks ... Read more »

My own interpretation is very simple. The main characters of Genesis Chapter 3 are first people in the world– Adam, Eve and God. The action takes place in the heaven, in the fruit garden. God was like Father for Eve and Adam. He cared about them and tried to protect them. God said that Adam and Eva could eat fruit from all trees in that garden besides one.  But they ate that forbidden fruit and, as a result, they were sent onto Earth.  ... Read more »

In the centre of Christian philosophy there is a main omnipotent person God. God created the Universe, the Earth. It was his hand that hung the worlds in space and fashioned the flowers of the field. It was He that filled the Earth with beauty and the air with song. It was God who created the first humans. Adam and Eve were the first humans on Earth. They lived in the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve were innocent, they didn’t know about anger, lust and evil. But they were the first who broke the la ... Read more »

Let me first speak about psychology and then come to the Bible. And in particular, let’s speak about forbidden activities. The human mind works, or, let’s say, is designed in such a way that it doesn’t perceive and therefore doesn't understand negative particles. If somebody says to you, for example, ‘Do not think about a polar bear’, what will your immediate reaction be? What will you be thinking about? Let me guess: a polar bear! That’s the way our mind and brains work. Consider little ... Read more »

The first people created by God were Adam and Eve. They lived in the sacred garden and everything was perfect in their life. They were just not allowed to eat the forbidden fruit. But Eve disobeyed God despite his warnings. She encroached upon the most sacred thing, she wanted to be like God. And to my mind, it sounds like a warning to the whole mankind: we all have power, we are all creators to some extent, but we should not compare ourselves with God, we should not even have a thought in our m ... Preface. When I was a little girl my granny used to read me the Bible for Children. Being a small child and not understanding what religion, faith, God and the Bible mean, I interpreted it in a way which may shock real Christians. My granny tried to explain to me everything from the traditional point of view, but... may be my imagination was too wild? I do remember the story of Adam and Eve which I regarded as the greatest injustice. When I was listening to it, I always pitied for the ... Read more »

We believe in the supernatural because we try to explain things with the help of it. People always like to shift their problems, their difficult situations to something mysterious. Everybody has always wanted to believe in magic. That is why they created fairy-tales, guessing and magicians. The Great German philosopher Immanuel Kant saw the doctrines of religion as an answer to the question "What can I hope for?”. To my mind this belief in the supernat ... Read more »

Why do we NEED religion? Or has it run its course and served its purpose? I think it really may have served a purpose at a time when no other explanation was available or was needed for survival. Just imagine a world without science, without the study of psychology, biology or astronomy... A world without the study of diseases, germs, medicine, medical procedures, a world where the common cold could very well kill you, a world where natural occurrences are both terrifying and unexplainable to a ... "Imagination is more powerful than knowledge", Albert Einstein.

Once upon a time there lived... ancient peoples. They were first to give birth to myths.
During the centuries people were creating gods to worship and myths to tell. During the centuries people believed that something rules their lives and destinies. During the centuries people wanted to feel protected by certain supernatural power. It is in human nature. To dream. To imagine. Th ... Read more »

Objectively, religion is the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods. But the content of this definition gets a completely different saturation from the point of view of different social groups. Non-believers reckon it is the thing that hazes reason, prevents us from seeing the world clearly and understanding the essence of life correctly. Those who cling to a certain religion consider it to be the source and the meaning of their lives. Religion ... Read more »

Some people claim that religion is the only reason for evolution and development. Others say that they believe in nothing and in nobody. Complete atheists. But can it really be so? I suppose, it can’t. Religion can’t be the force that makes the humanity go forward. Yes, it was useful a dozen of centuries ago. When people had no idea of science. But now, when we have developed such technologies, when we have investigated numerous phenomena, can we still believe that this is God who created the fi ... Read more »

Do you think there is something after our life on the Earth? Do you feel that something guards you like an angel? Do you believe in God? I think that everyone answered these questions even if no one asked them. They arise in our minds in different life periods and provoke different thoughts and feelings till we come to the conclusion who we are and what for we are here.
Nowadays, people try to turn aside from faith matter, or ignore some of its general rules. I think that it happens becau ... Read more »

What do we live for? The spiritual body allows us to see our life’s purpose and source. It is a source of growth and evolution. Our spiritual side helps us to follow the right things and choose the right life path. At the same time we can see that human consciousness and behavior have been changing for centuries. We now own some material and spiritual possessions and we are in power to change, re-create and even create things.

As for spiritual side, I strongly believe that we should devote m ... Read more »

“Ancient people couldn’t protect themselves against nature, so they believed in Gods”. I remember this sentence from my middle school, from the lessons of history delivered by our head teacher. Though it’s said about ancient people the very idea can be applied to the modern reality as well. People can’t protect themselves, don’t feel secure, can’t explain everything happening to them, so they believe in Supernatural. Superpowers are the easiest way to explain things.
You may say, ‘Why are ... Read more »

Our world is viewed as a place where people try to believe in supernatural. The supernatural has always been part of our conscious mind. People always want to understand everything they can’t explain. Without it we are never humans. One aspect of man’s creativity is religion. It shows peoples power to go beyond the immediate circumstances and crises of their life. Religion and faith are two interconnected things. We can explain faith in term of social needs and indi ... Life has to be secure before it can be improved. But what could help people to secure it centuries ago? Only believing in something, having a hope for the best could make mankind start improving their life conditions. Strong faith motivated humans to explore the Universe and explain some things. Those ones that were beyond their imagination were regarded as religious or supernatural phenomena. But can it be explained somehow what humans needed re ... Read more »
