The problem
of choice is one of the greatest problems for a human being. Think about
moments when you visit some shops and try to buy something (I don’t mean food
or drink). Or, for example, imagine a girl in a clothing store. Of course, I’m
talking not only about everyday choices.
Choices
can be of two kinds: material and mental. They are linked. A problem of choice
refers to a human being’s sureness and uncertainty. If a person doubts much, the
problem of choice is very difficult for him. On the other hand, if a person is confident,
a choice is nothing for him.
I can
also say that the most difficult choice is when you have only two things/ways/variants/etc.
to choose from.
The choice
is more difficult when it’s connected with people’s relationships. Sometimes it’s
rather difficult to choose between two people whom you like, but they want you
to choose one of them, for example, to be your best friend.
I should say that we
choose something every day of our life. And our every choice influences our
fate. So think things over before making a choice.
Yes, it's a really big problem to choose something. We do it every day and our choice can be different every time: we choose one thing, then we change our mind and choose another thing. We often regret about our choice but why? Maybe it's just our destiny to do something in such a way.
I'm thinking now about the phrase "the right choice". What does it mean? Whom is this choice right for? Are our right choices always objective? Sometimes we make a choice, but later understand that it has been wrong. So where is truth then?
to make a choice sometimes is difficult. but to make the right choice is much more difficult. nobody knows beforehand if he is right or wrong. so we just need to listen to ourselves especially when we try to choose between people or actions that may really influence our fate, our mind, our relationships. Seagull, I want to tell you, that if you have already made any serious choice, don't doubt. it doesn't matter if you are right now or wrong. it is YOUR choice and nobody else can do it instead of you. anyway, time will put everything on the places.
- it doesn't matter if you are right now or wrong - Who knows! My mind is on the same track with yours, Lucy. One addition - any choice should be made for the good.
Actually, I always think of choice. I make a choice practically every day. I sometimes think that it's providence. When I make a choice, I don't think of consequences because my natural instinct leads me rightly. To make a right choice - is it the matter of family breeding, education, social status or psychological and spiritual power?
I doubt that there is ever a problem of choice when it comes to liking or loving someone. You can never choose your best friend or a person to love. It just happens.
Impossible! It's self-deception! If you think about it, you'll see that you can never love two people equally! If your heart or mind prefers one, then the answer is obvious. Another thing is that you want to keep good relations with that other person between the two. You understand that you hurt that one but you are afraid to be honest.
Try to think about any moment when you understand that this or that person is your friend. You just realize it. And if we speak about our best friends. We don't choose them, we decide who is our best friend analyzing their behaviour and our relationships with them.
Well, it sounds strange. What do you mean by "change our mind"? Do you mean to say that it's good when someone cleverer or more sensible than you has the right to make you think differently? Is it the same as educating your mind or expanding (broadening) your horizons?
It all depends on the age, I think. When a young man decides something rashly or he is sure he "knows" life, it is not just good but necessary to interfere. But I agree with you, we shouldn't follow anybody blindly.
A young person will never learn to make his own decisions and to take risks until he is given enough freedom to act independently. It is impossible to learn to choose when you're always given a piece of advice or you are constantly guided through all the hardships. Even small children should be taught to make decisions.
if a person is confident, a choice is nothing for him. Seagull, i can`t agree with you. i think every person has had the problem of choice, and self-confidence doesn`t tell us that it is easy to make a choice for such a person.
Making a choice and being confident can be two different things. Sometimes we try to avoid making a choice because we are afraid that we can make a mistake. Other people experience is often disregarded, we plunge into the sea of troubles only because we never trust other people's experience. So, it takes a lot to learn from life. Give me a real life situation and I will prove that I am right.
I used to have problems with choice, because I wanted everything, it was difficult to choose, I couldn't decide myself, and when I finally chose I was tormented with doubts. Now I don’t choose on the spot. I try to live without this thing. And after a week or more I make a choice or forget that there was any.
