Diana Wynne Jones' “Howl's Moving Castle”
"In the land of Ingary Sophie Hatter's miserable little world is turned upside down when she is transformed into an old lady by a woman known as the Witch of the Waste, and Soohie leaves the hat shop to seek her fortune in the world. On the way, Sophie encounters a huge moving castle owned by a wizard Howl...”

Have you ever heard about a wonderful anime "Howl's Moving Castle”? To tell the truth, I adore Miyazaki's films and this one is my favourite))) And it is based on Diana Wynne Jones' novel of the same name.
First the book was published in 1986. It won a Boston Globe-Horn Book Award and was named an ALA Notable book for both children and young adults. A sequel, "Castle in the Air”, was published in 1990. A second sequel,”House of many Ways” was released in June 2008.
In 2006 it was loosely adapted as an Academy Award-nominated animated film by Hayao Miyazaki.

Talking about this film, Diana Wynne Jones mentioned, that it was "the most exciting film I've seen for a long time. I was riveted, and it bears seeing again”.
After reading the novel I can say that the book and the movie are VERY different. No, the characters and the plots are almost the same, but the whole atmosphere differs. To be honest, I was a little bit disappointed with the book – it's less philosophical and more comprehensible than the film. But still I'm sure: if you adore fantasy and fairy-tales, if you still believe in a miracle, or if you've just watched this anime, then, this book is for you))))

Earn up to $3500/month just by taking simple surveys online!

I tried one of those online survey sites about 4 months ago that
say all you have to do is spend a couple of minutes filling out
some surveys and you will be making hundreds a day..... YEAH RIGHT, I didn't make anything.

I joined 7 of these stupid websites and I actually tried filling
out a couple of surveys on each site and they took forever then at
the end they wanted me to buy things or I couldn't complete the
survey.

These are complete scams so be aware!!! I couldn't believe they
were even allowed to sell such bogus products.

Then about 2 weeks ago I was watching the news and they had some
vice presidents and marketing managers of some major multi million
dollar companies talking about a site that they personally work
with to pay consumers for their opinion, A site that actually just
wants the "average Joe's" honest opinion on products and services
and is willing to pay big money to get them. for more information

AAAAA!!! ))) I'm crazy fan of anime *___* Despite blood, Elfen Lied is very deep and moral..and very sat...Kota and Lucy loved each other, when they were children...And Hayao Miyazaki is master...Mononoku Hime, Laputa, Spirited away are masterpieces...He has incredible fantasy ))) Did you see Death Note,Code Geass or Kuroshitsuji?)) happy

27 Rina

Kuroshitsuji - yes))))) (Oh, Sebastian.... happy )
Death Note - In a process))))) about 20 episodes left))))

Death Note...I remember almost every moment of it... But I think not everybody who likes anime will like it.
Code Geass..Yes, interesting but Death Note is better )))

After having watched Death Note, my breath was actually taken away as this FILM (I should say it is a real film) has no equals and is unsurpassed in profundity of thought.

Lucy and All! Any anime will be fine I don't know what it is and would like to watch. Choose the best one, if it the right term to use. I'm dying of curiosity and my expectations are high. Thanks to all for giving me a chance to learn from you! cool biggrin

Hi, Guys! I feel intrigued and astonished at the fact that I have never watched the animes you are all talking about. I want to watch them all surprised I know one thing - I like animated films (cartoons), but animes seem to be different, don't they? Could anybody give me a DVD? Please!!!

yes, Rina, you are right about some works you've mentioned. I like them too.
I wanted to ask you: Have you watched Chobits or the Elfen Lied? I think it would be interesting for you to watch them, especially Chobits

10 Rina
0
Yes, I've watched them both))) They have a lot in common, but the difference (should I call it "the level of cruelty"?) is obvious wink Strangely enough, but I liked Elfen Lied better smile

14 Asya

Because you thought Chobits were stupid!!!!!!!!!!! cry

15 Asya

What is Elfen Lied? I suppose I haven't come across it.

16 Lucy

smile I think you should watch it. Im still sure that tastes differ but if you like anime you should know about it because it is rather popular with such people as I am.

18 Rina
0
Absolutely agree with Lucy - you should watch it... But... I've got a feeling that you won't like it - too much blood for you... But still, it remains the most tragical anime I've ever seen...

19 Lucy
0
It is so. blood...but not only it. I adore it because there are shown real human feelings. there attitude to strange creatures (and Lucy for them IS strange)...
And still it is very beautiful and funny, especially first two series (Rina, I hope you understand what I'm talking about biggrin ).

23 Rina
0
Yes))) they are funny)) And I can even say that during all 13 episodes there is certain alteration of light and funny moments and those that send shivers down one's spine... And this contrast makes all the feelings deeper. It is said that to understand what good is a person should face evil. According to this anime it's absolutely true.

24 Lucy

Thanks God I found a person who understands me ))) happy
nobody can understand why I like it
