Actually the question whether TV affects our brains or not has been discussed for many years. One study found that TV viewing before age three slightly hurt several measures of later cognitive development, but that between ages three and five it slightly helped reading scores. So, scientists try to prove positive sides as well as negative ones. If you're interested in how TV affects children, click here. As for me, I suppose that it is wrong to say that something is good or bad. It can't be so in this case. Of course, it depends on what to watch and how much. Is there any good watching stupid cartoons or TV shows whenever you have spare time? The answer is quite evident, I suppose. I watch TV very rarely and can't say it affects my brain. It just affects my mood, watching news especially. I prefer other activities. And there's no need in TV when we have the Internet. Do you agree with me? But there's one thing that bothers me: ads. They do work! Whether you understand it or not, they affect your brain. You subconsciously want to by advertised goods.
Now I'm interested in your opinion. Please, watch video first and then say whether you agree or disagree that TV hypnotises us. How much TV is too much TV, what do you think?
I agree TV itself is neither bad nor good. It all depends on people. We choose whether to accept some things or not. But I can't agree that there's no need in TV any more. I can compare it with electronic books: they are still books but in an unusual form. But being unusual they lose something important. The same thinf with TV and the Internet, I think. They are still different.
Does TV affect our brains? - Of course, it does and it must be so! It is bad of it is not so. Does the fact that TV affects our brains ruin your life? Have you ever thought that much of your culture and life success depend on the AFFECT?
Well, I do believe that TV influences people a lot. By the way, it's a powerful means to control people's views. And as the man from the video has mentioned, the essence of all of it is simple propaganda of the ideas that are profitable for those who have authority. As for me, I watch TV very rarely. “And there's no need in TV when we have the Internet.» - yes, I do agree. We spend so much time surfing the Inet that we even don't have any to watch TV. By the way you can be sure that you wouldn't be influenced by any propaganda in the Inet, because there are too many points of view and too many opinion, sometimes they are polar, sometimes they overlap. But still, compared with TV where one and the same theme can be harped on, the Inet gives you a possibility to choose what you like and what you'd like to avoid.
Unfortunately I have some problems with the speed of the internet, so I can not watch your video. As for me I don't watch TV at home at all. But when I am at somebody's home I REALLY enjoy watching ... ads! They are so bright, colourful and beautifull! But it doesn't matter that I'll buy something, of course no! I like just to watch and analyse it
