MebelExpo presents solutions for successful furniture production The 8th international exhibition "MebelExpo Uzbekistan 2011" started its work in the exhibition complex Uzexpocenter in Tashkent on 15 March. Today, the "MebelExpo Uzbekistan" is a major industry exhibition in the country. Eight years ago, the event began presenting new opportunities for professionals looking for innovative solutions in the furniture business, becoming a place for the presentation of high-quality furniture products, fittings, parts and equipment for new generation furniture production. Every year the exhibition grows, attracting new companies to its ranks of exhibitors. This year, about 40 companies from 13 countries are taking part in the exhibition. Among the participating countries are: Austria, UK, Germany, Greece, Spain, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Belarus, Russia, Slovenia, Uzbekistan and South Korea. The body of exhibitors includes 17 newcomers. Of the total number of exhibitors, 26% are representatives of the domestic market, and 74% are international companies and their representatives. Uzbekistan's furniture industry is largely dependent on raw materials from overseas, but this is not an obstacle to the expansion of furniture production, which is related to the implementation of one of the government's most important priorities: increasing the incomes and improving the living standards of the population. Incidentally, the market has quite a large proportion of small and private businesses, whose activities are also stimulated by the government. It is no secret that domestic companies are largely guided by international furniture brands, adopting their positive experiences in production and supply of the domestic market – as a result of this, the products of domestic manufacturers have already gained a significant part of the country's furniture market and have a high consumer rating. The capacity of Uzbekistan's furniture market is demonstrated by the exhibition, which comprises several sectors: machinery, parts and materials for furniture production, fittings, and ready-made furniture sets. The four-day event "MebelExpo Uzbekistan 2011" is held alongside "UzBuild 2011", the leading construction exhibition in Uzbekistan. The co-location of these two successful exhibitions is aimed at creating a single informational field, allowing industry professionals to learn about the latest technologies and interesting solutions and developments in these related industries. According to the organisers' forecasts, "MebelExpo Uzbekistan" will increase the investment attractiveness of Uzbekistan's furniture industry, presenting solutions for the production of high-quality furniture, and providing industry professionals with an opportunity to assess the furniture market, and analyze the prospects for its development and new competitive advantages.
