I'd like to say a few words on what i will write about in this blog. First of all, i wanted to throw light upon diffrent motion pictures, but now i realize that this will be too primitive, so i decided from time to time to tell about events in the world of cinema, about my own opinions on some moments concerning cinema, and, i believe, many other things.
The most important problem is what movies to review. I defenetily don't want to write in details about the latest movies, as it's a waste of time. Writing about classical pictures or arthouse movies is also not very appropiate cause these films are not well-know to the readers, and that may seem boring to them. Anyway, i'm inclined to write a few words about new pictures (kind of advice about what you may watch in the theatres), and i think i'm gonna write about some of the most memorazible movies that i watch every day. Maybe you'll be pleased to watch them yourself!
So, every week there's going to be a short summary of what is on the screens (only in Ryazan theatres) and a full review of some picture.
I like your blog. It is always very interesting and i'll try to follow your advise ( to watch movies, which you described)) Can you recommend me any interesting comedies?
Right, you've named the movies that are in my favourite list. By the way, have you watched a recent one called FATHER (Otets) starring Alexei Guskov. It's based on a few stories by Andrei Platonov. Watch it. I can give you the DVD. I'd like to know your opinion.
It's natural that modern movies show WWII in the other light, because movie industry these days is being commercialized more and more. Everything serves to the aims of earning money. So, of course, creators can sacrifice some important things for the sake of money. By the way, I'd like to recommend you some, in my opinion the best movies concerning the second world war. Here is the full list:
Foreign movies: Schindler's List The Pianist La Vita è bella (Life is beautiful) Katyn Die Fälscher (The Counterfeiters) Empire of the Sun
Russian movies (in translit): A zory zdes' tyhie Nebesnyi tikhohod V boy idut odny stariki Oni srazhalis' za Rodinu Sudba cheloveka Letyat zhuravli Ivanovo Detstvo (Tarkovskiy)
Max, the theme you've chosen sounds quite interesting and important. I wish I could go to the cinema or watch movies at home more often. You seem to be a good amateur movie expert, so I can turn to you for advice or comments. Why does it happen that sometimes a person gets hooked on one particular genre? I'm now very much keen on watching war movies, especially stories of the 2nd wolrd war. I have been watching such movies for about three months, I buy new DVDs and watch. Sometimes I watch the same movie a few times or do scanwatching. Some latest mvoies shot recently interpet the war events in other light, and I feel I learn a lot from them. Do you think it's stange?
