Jersey dog Harvey wins top prize at UK Labrador show A Jersey dog has beaten 316 dogs to win top prize at a UK championship show.
Harvey was named Best in Show at the Yellow Labrador Club Championship Show, which featured dogs from the UK, USA, Canada, Norway and Sweden.
Harvey, who is nearly five years old, also won his class and the Challenge Certificate at the show near Coventry.
Andrew Baudains, Harvey's owner, said it was an incredible achievement but Harvey had something that training just could not teach.
He said: "Labradors need to be very enthusiastic, very energetic, very happy in the ring, obviously training does not always bring that.
"But I'm very lucky with Harvey that he basically lives to show."
Mr Baudains said: "It is quite a prestigious show in the world of Labradors, there were champions there from the US, Canada, Sweden and the UK so for Harvey to actually win his class, go on to win Best Dog, and then Best in Show was clearly a huge achievement."
He said the next objective was for Harvey, whose pedigree name is Rocheby Brigadoon at Beauvoir, to win another Challenge Certificate as three are needed to become a champion.
