Who is the real leader? On what basis should he act? From my point of view, good leadership should be based on 4 main principles: trust, interest, development and unity. A real leader is to keep up and to improve these major points within the group. Trust also includes understanding (what personal and group goals each member tries to achieve) and confidence: self-reliance, assurance of success etc. It’s also very important to develop mutuality in the group: mutual assistance, cooperation, mutual understanding…It’s natural for a human to dislike an activity called “work” and as a result to avoid it. So the leader is a person who is both to control and to motivate members. A leader without a team is an orator without audience, he has smart ideas, but outcome gives a zero. A leader is to be responsible for the results of the group, to see the whole field of its activity and to control and correct it. I also think that a real leader creates his own model of management (as far as I am concerned, so called individual leadership style), so if you’re the only person who sees the structure, connections and the field in general, you’re the only person to control it. Does some name come into your mind when you think about the real leader? The first name that comes into mine is Akio Morita, genius co-founder of the world-famous SONY. He was not only the one who built the world biggest corporation from the ground up, but also a person who made a great contribution towards rebuilding his country from the ashes of the war. He believed that people without curiosity or ambitions are of no use. He was very active and energetic. He was not afraid of making serious decisions, but didn’t make them thoughtlessly. I admire his ability not to limit his activity. But though he thought worldwide he always acted locally.
Well, I don't think we will find any agrrement on the point who the leader is - a man or a woman. Statistically, of course a man. In family life - the husband is the strong core. It doesn't have anything to do with conventions or traditinal values. It is a natural phenomenon. If it is violated, it usually causes problems some time later. Life is too short to experiment who the leader is. We understand this when it is late or too late or already impossible to change anything.
Agree completely. Nowadays we have a serious problem, I think. A lot of women want to be leaders in their families and take too much on themselves. Maybe I'm too conservative, but that's not a classical example of a family. ( But of course I don't mean ofthat a woman should have no opinion at all)
Sure, there is leadership))) one of the two is the leader).. because it's natural....it might be not so obvious.. but still some one controls the situation.. and the happiest marriage and friendship is when there are inborn leader (someone who leads and can't live without it) and "inborn non-leader "someone who follows and feel ok" in the couple. But if there are two leaders, it will turn to the infinite battle for the leadership) Try to analyse your own relations, and you will find uot, that it's true))
Anna, you seem to be right and wrong at the same time. Any teacher is supposed to be a leader. A good teacher is not supposed to fish for love and affection. A good teacher is the one who leads his or her students into the depth of knowledge and a world of skills and competences. A good teacher is a leader, if he or she knows well what it is that the students need for their individual success in life. It means that the teacher can lead the way! This is the teacher's responsibility. I will wim him or her a great respect. It's pleasant to be aware of it, but I often don't care because it is my principle to teach my students to "cook" knowledge by themselves and offer it to others.
Teacher can not be real leader! because the real leader is someone who is EQUAl to the others) so for the teacher it's just a matter of his own personality)
Li$a, I'd like to ask you: is it possible to achieve smth. if you have a real leader and...an untalented? I mean, is it necessary for a good leader to keep a group of professionals underfoot?
Hmm, your theme, Li$a is very interesting, Two years ago i read a book about how to find any leader's qualities. And i can admit that it's not that easy, actually. So, my view on this problem is - you need to be born a leader.
Li$a, I'm very interested in your ideas about leadership and setting goals in life, and I suppose you put these ideas into practice. I would just like to know whether you consider yourself a real leader. And besides, what do you think about the viewpoint that the personal characteristics of a true leader are inborn? Or can we successfully develop them in ourselves?
