“Please, think before you decide to leave your baby. Do not make such a mistake.”
"Hi. I was abandoned. I live with my grandparents. They are ok I guess. My grandma says my mother had a pretty good reason to leave. She said she was a single mother, without a husband, and that she couldn`t stand what other people think of her. I don`t consider it to be a good reason for leaving your child. However, different people have different thoughts. When I grow up and have a child of my own, I will never abandon him/her. Sometimes I am looking at her picture and I think "who is this strange woman.” And she is a complete stranger to me. At least I have somebody. Many kids have to live in orphanages.”
In many countries all over the world, abandoned children spend some time before adoption – or spend their entire childhood and youth - in orphanages. In this way the state takes responsibility for children whose family is unable to provide for them. So without orphanages the children would die or have to barely survive in the street, having lost their natural provider of care and education, the family. Placement in orphanages frequently happens after natural disasters such as war, flooding, earthquakes, epidemics or sudden changes in economic conditions in the family.
But how do you think, are there ANY intelligible reasons for leaving a child in the orphanage? Is it normal to abandon your own child from the moral point of view?
There are so many diferent reasons about this point of view. But I think we must try to save our children. We can find huge reasons why we shouldn't leave our baby. And the first of them-children make us happy.
If a family is difficult... I mean parents who get used to alcohol and drugs, it's better to leave a child. But if a family is normal, it is stupid and no doubt terrible to leave your child.
It's not that easy to duscuss the point. Well, sometimes orphanages are better than a degenerated family. There is no recipe! Left children and unsolvable family problems are often a sign of social crisis. Things are often more serious than we think. Since we are so many, the problem has become alarmingly common.
Oh, the subject is so serious, I don't think I have a right to judge... The only thing a can say is that alcohol and drugs MUST NOT be the reasons for this.
