Queen. Queen are a British rock band formed in London in 1971, originally consisting(состоящая из) of the late Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals), John Deacon (bass guitar), and Roger Taylor (drums(барабаны), vocals). Queen's earliest works were influenced by progressive rock, but the band gradually(постепенно) ventured into more conventional and radio-friendly works, incorporating(объеденяя) more diverse(разнообразые)and innovative styles in their music. Before joining Queen, Brian May and Roger Taylor had been playing together in a band named Smile with bassist Tim Staffell. Freddie Mercury (then known as Farrokh/Freddie Bulsara) was a fan of Smile, and encouraged(воодушевил)them to experiment with more elaborate(замысловатый) stage and recording techniques after Staffell's departure(отъезда) in 1970. Mercury himself joined the band shortly thereafter, changed the name of the band to "Queen", and adopted(принял)his familiar stage name. John Deacon was recruited prior to recording their eponymous debut album (1973). Queen enjoyed success in the UK with their debut and its follow-up, Queen II (1974), but it was the release of Sheer Heart Attack (1974) and A Night at the Opera (1975) that gained the band international success. The latter featured(известная) "Bohemian Rhapsody", which stayed at number one in the UK Singles Chart for nine weeks; it charted at number one in several other territories, and gave the band their first top ten hit on the US Billboard Hot 100. Their 1977 album, News of the World, contained two of rock's most recognizable(легко узнаваемые) anthems(гимн), "We Will Rock You" and "We Are the Champions". By the early 1980s, Queen were one of the biggest stadium rock bands in the world, and their performance at 1985's Live Aid is regarded as one of the greatest in rock history. In 1991, Mercury died of bronchopneumonia(бронхопневмония), a complication(осложнение) of AIDS, and Deacon retired(ушел) in 1997. Since then, May and Taylor have infrequently(часто) performed together, including a collaboration(совместная работа) with Paul Rodgers under the name Queen + Paul Rodgers which ended in May 2009. When Queen was formed? Who was the lead vocalist? Do you know anything about this band? What the most popular Queen’s songs ? Why Mercury died? In my opinion, Queen is a legendary band. All generation will listen to Queen’s songs. As for me,it is one of my favourite bands. My favourite songs are “The Show Must Go On “ , “Another One Bites the Dust”, "We Will Rock You" and “Somebody To Love”.

Queen is a fantastic rock band! Their songs are really legendary! We have known "We Will Rock You" and "We Are the Champions" since the earliest childhood. My mother is really a fan of this group I agree with the fact that Queen gave a great impetus in the development of rock music.
QUEEN!!! I love this group!!!!!!! This is the greatest music band! I've seen the last concert of Queen. It was dedicated to Freddie's death. I remember that Elton John sang "The Show must go on". I can't say that I liked Elton's version, but the crowd...the energy of this huge crowd was insane. And this lasted during the whole concert. I know that Queen had a contest where they should choose the winner who should take part in their tribute tour. The winner was Marc Martel. Most of people were shocked when they saw his version of "Somebody to love" and "Bohemian Rhapsody". He has a manner of singing as Freddie. I can't say that it is completely similar, but sometimes I thought that this is Freddie singing.
Queen is really a legendary band. My favourite song of this Queen is "The Show Must Go On". It is great!!!My father prefer listing to this music! He thinks that this music is wonderful. I agree with him!!!Many people like their songs!!!!!!!
