Do you think there is something after our life on the Earth? Do you feel that something guards you like an angel? Do you believe in God? I think that everyone answered these questions even if no one asked them. They arise in our minds in different life periods and provoke different thoughts and feelings till we come to the conclusion who we are and what for we are here. Nowadays, people try to turn aside from faith matter, or ignore some of its general rules. I think that it happens because people are christened at an early age. They have godparents who must be responsible for spiritual education, but in fact it isn’t so. I think everyone needs something to believe in and we feel it mostly when we are in danger. That who is not church-goers at all start to pray and words come to him themselves. Or people start to believe in God when they become older and their life comes to a close. Isn’t it the evidence that there is something? People want to be independent now, to invent their own rules and think only about their benefits, but what will happen if everyone is guided only by his/her need and wishes? His/her freedom will sure break the freedom of others. So we realize that absolute freedom is impossible. They say that commandments – so-to-say recommendations from the Bible are absolutely out of date, but it is interesting that commandments in all the religions have many points in common. Maybe they are not religious superstitions, but the matter of common sense? I think that I am too young to understand the matter in its depth, but I feel that there is something that cannot be described by science. Something much greater…

Do you really think that the Bible now prevents people from killin'-stealin'? Every civilized country now have a constitution and a criminal code and I tend to think, that they are more effective, at least because they apply to everybody, both to believers and non-believers. Maybe they were invented right because of the, so to say "depopularization" of religions - the rulers needed something to prevent chaos... Thats why there is nothing prohibited by crimal codes, which is not prohibited by the commandments! May be a good theory, how d'u think guys?)
Of course commandment from the Bible can’t restrain an atheist. Criminal code is far more useful here. I just want to say that the commandments are based on a common sense. Your theory may be right.
People have always believed in the supernatural power which one day can protect them. It is a common occurrence for everybody of us, especially in times of trouble. And of course at an old age this feeling of security becomes extremely sensitive because everybody of us wants to live as long as possible.
I think everybody of us has felt it that sometimes someone protects us, doesn't let us make a wrong decision. Maybe the circumstances were such that we managed to do things well, or maybe we really have our own guardian angels? But anyway I don't think we should turn aside from religious matters. I'm not saying that we must become very religious people, but I believe religion deserves some attention too.
You know, sometimes no matter how hard we try, we achieve nothing. And we say: "Oh, I am unlucky/ that's not my fate." And sometimes we do nothing (even expect nothing) and great things occur in our life. We call them coincidence, a chance, luck, our destiny, our mission. The theory of probability is unable to explain the whole variety of events that happen to us. Why do some people meet and some don't? Why do we gain something and others do not? Isn't it that hand of guidance that makes arrangements for us? I think we all feel that there is something inconceivable to our mind. And when we fail to understand something, we start either to believe in it (and its supernatural power) or to fear it. It seems to me that religion is both belief and fear; while faith is only belief...
You are speaking about faith. But faith is not only religion, while religion is always faith. That's why I wouldn't say that people are turning aside from faith matter. I'd rather state that the values have changed, or are changing. And this is the problem. You've already spoken about the commandments. They are universal truths. At least some of them. They have been written, to my mind, to prevent people from doing hasrm to each other. If we neglect them, what force will stop the world before it's turned into ruins?!
